Frequently asked questions
Which LED bulb replaces my old traditional bulb?
Pick by brightness (lumens), not watts. A 5W LED replaces about 30W, 9W about 60W, 12W about 75W and 15W about 100W, with up to 90% energy saving.
What wattage do I need for my room?
5W suits corridors, bathrooms, table lamps and side lights. 6W candle or crystal suits chandeliers. 9W–12W suits bedrooms and kitchens. 15W–24W suits living rooms and large spaces. The right choice also depends on the room's size.
What do E14 and E27 mean, and what's the difference?
"E" stands for Edison screw, and the number is the base diameter in millimetres. E27 (27 mm) is the standard household base used in most ceiling lights and table lamps. E14 (14 mm) is the smaller base used in chandeliers, wall lamps and decorative lights. Check your old bulb's base before ordering.
Daylight or warm white: which should I choose?
Daylight (6500K) is a bright, clear white, best for kitchens, offices, study areas and corridors. Warm white (3000K) is a soft, golden light, best for bedrooms, living rooms and decorative chandeliers.
What does 3000K, 4000K or 6500K mean?
K (Kelvin) describes the colour of the light: about 3000K is warm, 4000K is cool white, and 6500K is white like daylight.
What do lumen, wattage and CRI mean?
Wattage (W) is the power the lamp uses. Lumen (lm) is how bright it is. CRI (0–100) shows how accurately the light shows colours; above 80 is good for homes.
Opal or clear: which is better?
Opal (frosted) gives softer, more even light with less glare. Clear gives a sparkling look, best for crystal chandeliers.
How long do the lamps last, and is there a warranty?
Elsewedy LED lamps are rated for 25,000–30,000 hours, which is years of everyday use. Most classic and candle lamps come with a 4-year warranty.
How can I replace a lamp under warranty?
Within 14 days of delivery, request an exchange or return from your account, or call our hotline 19052 with your order number. After 14 days and within the 4-year warranty, visit one of our stores with the lamp in its original pack, and we'll replace it.
Can I save more by buying in bulk?
Yes. Our LED lamp bundles (3 or 10 lamps) cost less per lamp than buying singles, which is ideal for a whole home, hotel chandeliers or cafés. See our LED Lamp Bundles collection.
